What happens when a former two time World Kickboxing Champion from Dublin, Ireland meets a Mental Health Professional from Denton, Nebraska to play and perform Irish music?
You get a tough, yet sensitive, frenzied yet polished, sometimes boisterous yet often gentle delivery of modern and traditional Irish music from the pub to the concert stage.
With well over a dozen instruments played on stage this very talented duo have the gift of bringing the Irish Pub experience to everyone. From Mick Doyle’s powerful and emotional lead vocals to Dave Marsh’s mastery of his menagerie of instruments, they are sure to delight and sound much bigger than just a duo.
Mick Doyle and Dave Marsh began playing music together as “Ellis Island” over fifteen years ago and continue to mesmerize audiences all over the Midwest with their charm and interpretation of the music of the Celtic Isles.
Ellis Island has been named “Best ethnic live act” by the Omaha Entertainment Awards and has been twice nominated as “Best duo in a pub/festival” by the Irish Music Association winning the award in 2009.
Ellis Island has released three (3) cd’s :“Crossing the Pond” “Live from McGuire’”s and “The Whole Shebang” and are currently working on their newest live cd to be released in 2012
